Peter Gasser: Psychedelic Psychotherapy in Switzerland
With both clinical and preclinical experience, few people in the world can measure up to Peter Gasser’s overall knowledge in psycholytic and psychedelic therapy. Almost three decades ago, Peter was one of only five doctors legally allowed to use MDMA and LSD in clinical psychotherapy in Switzerland between 1988 and 1993. In 2007, Peter started the first controlled clinical trial with LSD for over 40 years, providing support that LSD can have a good effect on anxiety at the end of life. Peter has continued his research on LSD and LSD-Assisted Psychotherapy, and is currently conducting a study on LSD-assisted psychotherapy in group format.
The lecture provides an overview of how to work therapeutically with LSD, as well as sharing preliminary findings from the ongoing study. The lecture is part of Nätverket för psykedelisk vetenskap’s lecture series at Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm.
