TEDxMSVU Aging Well: Keri-Leigh Cassidy | Keri-Leigh Cassidy | TEDxMSVU

TEDxMSVU speaker Keri-Leigh Cassidy discusses how aging well has more to do with how we think about aging than other factors in her talk, “Positive thinking for aging well”. Dr. Cassidy talks about the science behind why negative messaging/views on aging has a detrimental impact on us. She suggests that strategies based on cognitive behavior therapy can help us challenge negative thoughts and in doing so change them, which ultimately can contribute to longer, healthier and happier lives. TEDxMSVU speaker Dr. Keri-Leigh Cassidy is a Professor of Psychiatry and Clinical Academic Director of the Geriatric Psychiatry Program, Dalhousie University, Nova Scotia. She is a national leader in late life psychotherapy, the author of a manualized Enhanced CBT Group Therapy program, and lecturer on Late Life Psychotherapies for the Canadian Association of Geriatric Psychiatry National Review Courses and Updates.
